My current website host is bludomain (don't get me started) and I am done with them. Way too many issues to go into. I really like the Web gallery feature of Lightroom and I was wondering how many people actually use the feature. I was thinking of just getting a simple hosting site, transferring my domain to them and then using the Web gallery feature to upload all of my galleries? Does that make any sense? |

I guess I just really want to utilize the LR web galleries since I do like many of the layouts and I paid for the program so why not utilize all the features ya know? |

I use it for client portfolios on my website. I don't upload directly for LR but I'm sure it's not to difficult to set up. |

I used them for the main galleries for my web site for a couple of years, and still use them for private client portfolios. What you gain in convenience you lose in flexibility. It takes considerable effort to create an entire web site using only LR galleries, but it can be done. I attached them to a very simple flat HTML site structure to provide the home, contact, etc. pages. |

I use Lightroom's webgallery feature all the time to create galleries for clients to see. |

Thanks for all the responses. Right now I am experimenting with Jalbum using FotoPlayer and at the same time I am messing around with FotoPlayer in LR and some of the other free templates available online. I like the FotoPlayer templates but for some reason it takes forever for the template to load and preview the 25 images I have in one of my collections. |

I have three simple and easily created LR web galleries up on my main wedding website right now. They are to show the B&G and the guests the wedding pics. |

All of the galleries on my site (http://www.simongerzina.com) are just SlideShow Pro templates managed and output by Lightroom and wrapped in basic HTML navigation. The only place I use the stock Lightroom templates is for client proof galleries, which no one else ever sees. I like having really a way to quickly and easily make galleries of hundreds of images at a time, but I don't think those galleries are really appropriate for personal marketing use. |
