Hi folks- I am extremely new to photography and this board. I recently purchased the Canon 7D and am running into issues with Pocketwizard plus II, MiniTT1 and FlexTT5. The issue is that in some apertures ( above f/5 in most lenses) and certain focal lengths ( this one varies and I could not narrow it down but it only happens with L series lenses as far as I can tell!), the camera does not trigger any of these PW devices. I have even changed the mode in TT1 and TT5 to “ trigger only” so they act as a trigger without any data from the camera/ lens and still am running into the same issue. |

For full 7D support you should download and install the beta firmware here |

Do you have a 2nd camera to test with? I ask because it's strange that focal length would have anything to do with the issues you're having; especially when it comes to the older Wizards. |

update: everything works great with the install of the new PW beta firmware. Also, the issue with the PW plus II was the TT5 as I was using the plus II as a transmitter and the TT5 as a receiver. The TT5 must be in the "trigger mode" to see the plus II. In my case, it kept reverting back to the default( TTL) mode. This issue was also fixed with the software update. |

There is now also an official (non-beta) firmware update adding 7D compatibility. Works great. I get perfect HyperSync at 1/400th. |
