Full info, no NR on that shot. Works 19-55, 18mm has vignetting and it can touch the mirror.

Thanks for obliging...That was a perfect capture for no NR. So that's an equivalent of around 25mm "ish"...Neat results, If I didn't have FF and the 24-105L I'd be sending you my 18-55 IS to "mod" for me. I don't often get results that clean with my 1D on anything higher than ISO 400, and even then, just a bit noisy...BTW, your online albuns are very nice..

Cool.... I'm considering modding an 18-55IS for my wife to use on her hand-me-down (from me) D60. I modded an old version way back when to use on a D30, did you do your own mod and is the method and internals the same on the IS version as the older ones, Andrew? Did you do something to limit it to 19mm wide as well, or just not cranking that wide when using it? (I had zero clearance issues with the old mod I did on the D30, but full wide would interfere the mirror on a Elan7e)

I cut off the back with a hot knife. You must be very careful not to nick the data cable.
I didn't put a limiter on. If you don't see vignetting you're fine.

You did that with the mount still attached to the lens, then? Do the terminals not disconnect from the mount plate with a couple super-tiny screws like the older version?

I owned the original 18-55 for a few city shots. I was shooting a few areas, before I owned a full frame camera, OR my 16-35.

I had 2 crop bodies, and 24-70 +70-200. I had to do some building shots, and 24mm wasn't wide enough for a building that tall. So I bought the 18-55 to use, until I went FF.

The lens performed wonderfully, and is absolutely worth the 50 bucks one will run. You can do plenty of work with it.
