This Hoffer-inspired thread is a tribute to your girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, partner, whomever, because they makes a huge difference in who, where, how, and what we photograph.

Because they sacrifice... At the hand of expensive gear purchases, last-minute free assistant needs, late night editing sessions, passionate diatribes on style, summer weekend days spent away, modeling for our unflattering lighting experiments, and weird photographer friends imposing for breakfast. They do it for us, with no expectation of a blog mention or even a free canvas.

I'm interested in seeing 'em shooting, assisting, editing, or doing whatever they faithfully do for us behind the scenes to make us look good. I know you've got hundreds of unpublished frames of this person.

This is my husband Rick. In this frame he is posing for me while I experiment with my settings. I make him be my model A LOT lol. I am lucky enough to be able to shoot with him for a living. He is creative, passionate, dedicated and my biggest fan. He is the kind of guy who thinks he can do anything then proves to me that he can. Always encouraging me to try new things, buy new gear, get to the next level... I am such a lucky girl.

You are right about everything you said. When I first shared my intention of seriously getting involved in photography with my husband, he said he would support me 100% and that he looked forward to helping me, sometimes that means watching our daughter, sometimes it means being my model when I want to practice a technique. As it turns out, he has really taken to wedding photography himself quite well and now is learning more about videography and video editing... now he is getting support from me because he shows such great potential.

Here's Amy and I. Since she's on FM now, I figured I should kill 2 birds with one stone.

A fun night out for us will include a nice meal, a few drinks, and an hour or two running around town shooting each other.
