Hi Helen,

Thanks for following up. I've not heard from Mackcam since I got the generic email saying the $623 cheque had been sent.

According to their policy though this is just how they work so I think i've given up hearing from them with any other resolution.

Thanks for your time though, it is very much appreciated.

Dave

I'm disappointed........if it were me, I think I'd be inclined to call Barry from Mack Camera and explain the problems I'd been having - 800-252-MACK.

Dear Dave,
On behalf of Mack Camera, I would like to offer our deepest apologies for the delay in your reimbursement. We are in the process of changing our reimbursement schedule to provide a more pleasant experience for our international customers. I would also like to apologize for the additional financial burden placed upon you. Mack Camera will be mailing you an additional check for $90 US in order to provide proper resolution. Please email me offline at helpdesk@mackcam.com if you have additional questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Desiree

Hi Desiree,

This is fantastic news, and much appreciated - not only for myself but future international customers.

Please let me know if I could provide you with some constructive feedback or suggestions for process improvement.

I guess the option that stands out which was initially mentioned was for Mack to organise payment direct with the repairer at the time of the repair. If this is not possible however a more frequent schedule of check printing is a good compromise.

Thanks,

Dave W

For what it's worth ... I'm following this as most of my gear has Mack insurance on it, and I just got my new 1DIV and was considering if it should be included.

Not much point if it's going to jerk me around ...

Wow thats gotta be annoying as all get out ... was considering doing the "mack" thing as opposed to local insurance because doing it locally would cost about as much as my car's insurance does but i know all the girls in the office and i never get any grief when i have a claim... that alone may make the extra cost worth it

Hi Helen,

Thanks again for chasing this up. I don't want you to waste too much of your valuable time however, you have done more than enough already.

Unfortunately though, i've yet to receive any message from Mack since Desiree's last post on the forum.

Take care,

Dave

Hi again, Dave

I've emailed Desiree twice, and now sent a couple of emails to: Laura Bufis lbufis@mackcam.com

She has asked me for your full name in order to follow this up - but I don't have it!
I have suggested that she comes onto the forum to make contact with you - as you are probably aware Adorama is now closed until April 7th, and I was concerned that if I wait to hear back from you with your family name, so much more time will have gone by.
So - I suggest that you also try emailing her directly.

Helen
