Well after a two month wait, my Nikon 200 VR 2.0 shipped. I could not wait on FDX so I went and got it yesterday! First impression, beautiful piece of equipment. Second thing, man is this thing heavy, real heavy. I will be putting it into service this weekend and post later
Now the answer to the question "What's in your wallet?" is. . . NOT MUCH but it's all good for now.

had that same set up and sold the D3 and 200 2.0 when I decided to not cover sports anymore. You are going to love it!!. The images that combo produces are spectacular. Good luck and congratulations.

I think the term I've heard around here for those pics is "lens porn"!

Got my 200 a few weeks ago and find that on a D3 it balances very nice on a monopod. I can shoot with it handheld but it does get heavy after a while.

Enjoy!!

That lens makes the D3 look small! Congrats on the new lens. I never get tired of seeing samples this lens produces. When I come across the right deal I will own this lens also.

I found a problem when I got mine and mounted it on my D3. It wouldn't come off. Seriously, the combo is just great to shoot with. You'll find that there isn't much that it can't do.

Congratulations, mine is somwhere between Herat and Kabul Afghanistan. I'm chomping at the bit waiting for mail each day to see if it's in the mailroom. I'm sure your going to love it. I think I'm going to love mine too.

Hope you get yours soon. You actually played a big part in helping me to get off the fence and go for it (read the post after you ordered yours), I have wanted this lens for a couple of years now. Good luck with yours.

Fstr,

Glad to be of service with your NAS. I've got NAS real bad since I've also ordered the 500 f/4 vr. I'm sure I've got a couple more months before that comes in as well. Lets see pictures when you get your 500

Cheers

David
