Looking for some opinions on a few shots from yesterday. Seems like the first one could have potential, but it's not quite right.

If I was to guess, I would say you were at Grafton, WV

I have to ask, I am from Florida and will be up that way this weekend. How are colors? I was up there last year around the end of October and was about a week late from peak. I am leaving Saturday and will be doing Sand Patch and from Connellsville to Hancock as well as the C&O in the new river valley and NS Pokey over the course of a week or so. I am hoping weather cooperates, I see Saturday looks like a wash, good thing that is my travel day.

1. Nice colors. I like the railroad tracks as leading lines. To me the composition would be improved and better balanced with a bit less on the bottom. A shot closer to the ground, down the tracks with a telephoto or shallower DOF would also be of interest.
2. I think you have competing elements, the way the image is composed. What is the main subject? What is foreground, background? As is, image divides into thirds, not automatically a bad idea. You have roughly one third sky, one third subject (I'm assuming the train, crossing/station are the main subjects), and fairly large area of vegetation framing the bottom. I'm wondering if the composition was dictated by where you could stand. I wish we could see the train without the signals blocking part of the front, a closer view of the train and depot, less sky, and, if possible, less vegetation at bottom.
