Howdy Folks.

The response has been great!

Lots of PMs from nice people saying they want to learn how to use this forum in a better way. That is all very encouraging.

Oh...and not everyone who has sent me a PM is a Newbie.

So there IS interest on the part of people who have been here a while and even from people whom I have never seen or heard from or knew about too (Lurkers). Nice folks.

I am glad you folks have been responding and encourage others to do so too.

Steady - you have inspired me. This is my first post on this forum, having lurked here for the last 6 months. I'm relatively new to photography in general and am learning every day and getting a nice start set of equipment together.

I absolutely love this site, and visit it multiple times per day. I've found the feedback provided to both professional and newbie photographers to be extremely helpful as I immerse myself into this medium. As soon as a get a bit more confidence in my skills, I'll get the courage up to post something of my own and start to contribute to the community. Until then - thank you all for your participation both giving and taking feedback! I've turned many of my friends onto this site and they regularly lurk as well, so I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Thank you, thank you!!

Thanks Matt.

I am just cutting a path. You can start one too.

Put another way...."everyone on a forum can be an asset."

Hi Ted.

I feel very fortunate indeed IF I ever inspire anyone.

My mother used to tell me: "Be Inspired Every Day!" (She was a great creative person with a wonderful sense of all the possibilities.)

I have taken that same feeling myself and promised myself to try to find something that inspires me "every day." And I feel it is special when one person not only can but DOES inspire someone else.

So, thank you for your Comment to me. I bet my Mom is smiling up in heaven.

I also like that you are posting now too. That is the first big step most people don't take on a forum. I hope you enjoy your journey.

Good light to you.

Steady

Very interesting. I just checked out your site - great work there. My humble suggestion: post the link once this thread gets to the second page. Surely anyone who bothers to read that far won't be offended.

Edit: And apparently that would be this post!

Thanks Steady...I always read your posts because they're always kind, respectful and help all that reads them. This forum can get aggresive at times and having thick skin helps, but should you?...probably not!!!

Thanks for leading the way to a better experience...you're one of the reasons I'm here.

Thanks

Thanks for adding the good thoughts.

I prefer to meet and greet and give a few sentences of encouragement to the Newbies and Lurkers who have been sending me PMs. That first communication is important to establishing an "active" participation within the forum/community. Better than just a "link" posted, IMHO.

Also, I am learning some things about what is important to them and WHY they are lurking or not posting. THAT helps me consider new tips to add to the mix on how to have a better experience on this forum.

You are very helpful indeed Steady thanks for pointing out these ideas, I just want to say that I'm not going to leave this forum, "my online home" hahaha and...........

I was Newbie here and learned a lot from you guys from soft to hard C n C, "its all worth it and fun, and I sometimes find it funny of some photgraphers here reacts in my works", I may not be posting pix here for while cause its not my time yet to shoot a lot of pictures, specially portraits and wedding pix "my goal next year" so dont be afraid I still show some pix from my country if I have any hehe...

To all Newbies, this forum is worth it and fun meeting photographers and sharing a lot of C n C with your pix, so enjoy your staying here

Damn straight. It's a steady world, or you're missing something. So, are you missing something?

My name is Rodolfo Paiz. I've been using a DSLR since 1982, and I seem to continue learning something new every day. So I'm a newbie.

Can I get on this list, please?

Rodolfo, mi amigo!

Thanks for the very nice support on this effort.

I also chuckled some when I read your admission of being a newbie because you learn every day. I feel the same way.

Thanks for adding some humor, honesty, and good spirit to this discussion topic.

Good light to you!

And....yes...you will be on the List.

Stickies....

Bump for more Newbies.

Hey folks,

You may notice this post showing up on the first page often.

That is the nature of a "Sticky" as it is meant to be seen to help others who are new to the forum. So it "sticks" to the first page where a new visitor will see it easily.

So, pardon the occasional "bumps" to the first page, I know it may annoy some "old timers" here on the forum. It is just so other Newbies and Lurkers and Visitors will see it and then possibly join the community in posting and sharing here. In my opinion, that would help us ALL see more photos and have a better time here.

Steady
