I too am with CPS and I know you cannot buy anything from them. What I meant was that they could use CPS membership as a possible way of determining who fitted into their 'pro status' for allocation of early release bodies. I'm just guessing of course, who knows what they're thinking.

They could but they won't. At least for CPS USA, they are completely understaffed (or at least were, before the new membership policies went into affect). But membership is pretty much open to anyone that wants to pay a fee, so using that for a 'pro status' determination would be better off if they called 'already-giving-us-money customer status'.

CPS in Europe has not introduced the same 'pay & play' system. We're still on the old 'if you have enough gear to qualify then you're in' system. However, we do have the EOS Pro Network of retailers over here: http://www.canon.co.uk/eospro-network/index.asp The dealer I use is one of these and almost exclusively deals with CPS / NPS members and does not target the general public.

I did a preorder for a Mark III from OneCall but had to cancel because they never would ship. finally I ordered from B&H and received it within a week or two. OneCall is no longer on my Favorites List, it used to be a much better store.

Try B&H, Adorama, Calumet, Hunts, or J&R for a tax free shipment.

thanks chesapeake, but the company i use to ship stuff to me overseas is located in NY. and B&H , Adorama all have tax there. one thing I like about onecall is that the price doesn't show in the package so i dont have to pay costumes when it arrive. any reason why the didnt ship to you?

That's bad news Sean.

I haven't told my wife & luckily the MkIV looks enough like the MkII it's replacing that it will never become an issue.

Mo,
They could never explain why they had no stock, even though other dealers alround the country had inventory and were shipping. I was frustrated and allthough an old OneCall customer, I decided to buy elsewhere. Hunts Camera, in
Massachusetts, usually receives high marks on this forum and might work for you? Good Luck.

I have been told I'll have mine despatched to me on Friday this week so I should get it on Saturday morning or Monday next week. Assuming they get 10 or more in the first delivery, you should be in the same position Adam.

Hi Pierre

I know you didn't say who you ordered with but it's Friday.

Have you phoned them today to confirm that yours will be shipped tonight?

You're right, it's Friday, and I have called them but it looks like the good old British weather is going to delay my shipment until Monday. DHL have to collect it by 4.00pm and at the moment, that's not looking likely.

We're all watching you Pierre. No pressure! I've been watching Japan's Amazon site and the expected date has changed from 12/18 to 12/19, but we're bound to be close. At this point, I'm a little curious about how big those first shipments will be, especially to Amazon.com in the US.

The snow has beaten me! Looks like it's not going to ship until Monday. I doesn't snow very often in the UK so the systems in place to deal with it are not as slick as they could be.

As for the shipment size, I have been told that they're only getting six units and they requested twenty four.

Pierre.

Damn! I'm number 11

Oh well hopefully my other pre-orders will come through.

by the way, I just spoke to them myself, and it seems they've not received the stock their end first, and are expecting them Monday. And the lady I spoke to said Tuesday was the most likely ship date, unless they come early Monday morning.

That's true but for me it's an hours plane ride away. If I could drive there, I'd be on the doorstep first thing Monday morning but that's not going to happen. I have to put my trust in DHL to bring it to me.

Right I've spoken to the two other stores I've preordered from (I'm at no.1 at both of them) and the first one said

: No real word from Canon. Possibility of getting them before Christmas, but they think it unlikely

The second one said

: They were expecting a small number yesterday but nothing turned up. Now they expect delivery for Wednesday.

The stores I wait at say they expect a very limited delivery between Christmas and New Year, maybe as little as one or two cameras. My guess is that those will mainly end up as store demos, maybe that's why Canon sends out an initial small number.
