Thanks for the info!

I guess by now it's pretty much obvious that the rumours regarding the date were acurate.

Now let's see if it's full frame or 1.3x...

I went to a local retailer and tried to fish some info but all I got was a coy smile, which is probably an answer in itself. All he said was that next month is Canon month, whatever that means. If the mkIV is really being announce this month, I'm guessing that's when they start being available.

Anyway, I look forward to a whole bunch of new b*tching threads about it when the camera finally arrives in the hands of our resident pixel pervs.

Well seeing as how they stopped shipping 1d3's to at least some dealers I know they best have something to replace it.

Mostly it's from Canon *owners* who don't actually use their cameras. Users are too busy making images.

Which 7D features would make it in there? I'm guessing the electronic level, wireless flash controller, even better version of the AF, metering system.

I would hope that all of those would make it into the MkIV plus some other goodies.

Unless the MKIV has a popup flash, the wireless flash controller won't be in there. In other words, it won't be in there.

Maybe they'll put in something like "Pocket Wizard" ala Canon ?. I read somewhere they were working on it.

I was thinking that but isn't there a Nikon with a wireless flash controller but no popup flash?

If you are talking about the D700, it has a popup flash. Don't think the D3 has a controller as it doesn't have a popup flash.

My badge is sitting on the desk; I might go.

I must decide, do I take my 1DIII and 35L or the 1DsIII and 85L.

I'll post upon my return, or maybe from my friends laptop at the show.
