I need to make my kit fit my interests and fix some of the redundancy in focal lengths.

More feed back on ebay as ixoye25. As I am not a pro nor do I truly know the standard that is used for evaluating equipment I am looking for locals (Tusla, OK) sales, but I am willing to discuss shipping.

Nikon 300 2.8 AFS II $2700 or Trade + Cash deal for Nikon 200-400 VR

I love this lens, but I am working toward a 200-400 VR. I wish I could afford both. This lens is amazingly sharp and fast. Shooting sports with it is pure joy! With that said I purchased this used from a camera store this summer. I needed the longest lens I could afford and this lens with my TC was the most lens I could afford. The combo has not let me down, but my dream is still a Nikon 200-400 VR. I DO NOT have the case, or front lens cover if it is supposed to have one. I do have the rear end cap. The think the hood is the AFS I version, but it works quite well.

Pics of 300 2.8 AFS II

Nikon SB400 LNIB $100 OBO
This is pretty much band new. I have only used this a few times. I have the original box, case, etc... Purchased March 2009.

Nikon 35 1.8 LNIB 150 OBO *Sold Locally*
This is pretty much band new. I have only used this a few times. I have the original box, case, etc... Pre-Ordered this in February 2009, but took months to get.

Nikon 18-200 VR $550 OBO PP'D and Shipped--500 For Local Deal *Sold Locally*
Nikon 70-300 VR $450 OBO PP'D and Shipped--400 For Local Deal *SOLD*
These two lenses no longer make sense with the purchase of my 70-200 VR. I have not used the 70-300 since March 2009. I still use the 18-200 for my wide angle requirements. I have the box, original receipts, lens bags, and etc.. for both lenses. Please note that the 18-200 was purchased in Canada since that is where I lived at the time of purchase. The 18-200 was sent to nikon for a noise
it made a few times while I was shooting in 2008. Nikon told me there was nothing wrong and I have yet been able to recreate the noise. I still use this lens and still goes everywhere I do.

Nikon TC-17 II LNIB $400 OBO *SOLD*
I purchased this in March 2009 with my 70-200 VR. I did not care for the combo and after awhile put the TC on the shelf. I did not break it out again until I purchased my 300 2.8 later that summer. The combo of the 300 2.8 and TC has been awesome, but for me it is still too short.

The only trades I will consider are
Nikon 17-55 2.8 *Traded For*

Not the worlds greatest photog, but hope Images show you lenses are sharp.

Once I figure out how to edit the original post I will update it. For the mean time the TC has been sold to gergled.

I'm very interested, is the lens hood HK-26? I believe that is the correct hood for this lens

Paul met my brother last weekend and my brother was able to test out the 300mm 2.8. According to him, the lens is in good condition (with some signs of use) and works well. Autofocus is fast and no squeaks that he could make out.
He also mentioned that it appeared Paul took good care of his equipment. While attaching camera to the lens, he was careful to point it away from the blowing wind to avoid dust from getting in.

All in all, I would trust Paul and think that this is a great lens at the price. Now if only I could get the approval to purchase the lens.
