Can someone please advise whether the MF2 adapter offered by Olympus for old Zuiko lenses can be fitted onto the Panasonic GF1 body? I ask this question because I am not aware that Panasonic does offer one. I plan to purchase the GF1 with 20mm 1.7 as a walkabout camera and also enjoy the added bonus to play around with my old prime lenses.

I do own three Leica R primes - 28mm, 50mm and 90mm and also Olympus 28mm, 50mm, Vivita series 1 105mm (macro) and Tokina ATX 80-200mm (both Olympus mount).

My main camera is a Canon 5D with 24-70mm L plus adapter for Leica as well as Olympus.

Thank you kindly in anticipation of your reply.

The MF2 adapter for the E-P1 will work, but it's significantly expensive. I'd recommend getting a Panasonic MA1 adapter for $20 cheaper and going for an eBay OM-4/3rds adapter. That will net you 4/3rds compatibility and allow you to use the many cheap 4/3rds adapters (including Leica R adapters). If you have no interest in 4/3rds lenses an eBay 4/3rds to m43 adapter or EOS adapter would be an even better choice (the latter would allow you to use your current R and OM to EOS adapters).

Adam,

With your advice that the MF2 is compatible on the GF1 for old OM lenses, my first option will be to have this for OM and the DMW-MA3R for the Leica lenses.

I am also interested to find out how the Tokina 80-200mm will perform on the GF1 as this combo will effectively give me a maximum reach of 400mm.

In any case, your input is very much appreciated. I know little about the micro 4/3rd format and after catching up a bit on various websites, I find it very interesting and am very sure it will (if it has not already) open up many options for photographers.
