I've had my first problem with a SanDisk CF card (Extreme III). Data was corrupt and could not be read. Fortunately SanDisk RescuePro got the photos back. I don't feel comfortable in using this card again. My question: Will SanDisk replace the card under it's "lifetime" warrantee?
FYI I've been using SanDisk cards for years and never had a problem.

Could you give SanDisk a call and then come back and give us an update?

I bought an "Extreme III" off eBay only to find out it was a fake. I suspect there are quite a few of them out there. eBay has a page dedicated to figuring out if you have the real deal or not. I was too late to complain so am stuck with mine.

Having said that, it is not bad. Probably a little (lot?) slower moving data but it has worked fine for me in my Nikon D70S. I have just upgraded to a Nikon D200 so we shall see if it can keep up.

As with anything go by the price. If someone is felling a $200 item for $50 be wary. At the time I did not know the value of the real thing.

I am new here. I think I will enjoy it. I am retired and have dabbled in photography all my life. We spend 6 months in Canada and 6 (Winter) in Mexico.

I originally posted while I was on hold with SanDisk. When they got back on the line all went well. They authorized a replacement over the phone and are sending a UPS pick up tag so shipping the old card back to SanDisk is free. Great service so far.

I had one bad Extreme III card (no trouble with others I own), had kept packaging. Sandisk was great - expressed a new card. I buy Sandisk.

Good start but...after an e-mail indicating I receive something (?) via e-mail within 36-48 hours..so far not a word. So Sandisk joins the long list of Made in China Serviced in India and Scrxxxx in the good old USA

Update: I finally called SanDisk back and I very nice Indian gentleman assured me they had sent me the two missing e-mails. I convienced him to double check the address and (strange but true) the first e-mail when to my address, the other two to a completely different one. To make a long story.....I have just received a new CF card and now have moved back to a big thumbs up for Sandisk.
