I've been having nothing but problems using my new MiniTT1/FlexTT5 setup. I realize there is a noise issue with some Canon Speedlights, but my problem seems different. I can't shoot past 5-7 feet if there is an obstruction between the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5. However, when I notice it's not setting the flash off when I take the picture, I try hitting the TEST button on the MiniTT1 and it fires the flash. What the heck could be the problem? ![]() |

Did you try using an off camera cord? get an OC-E3 and some Ferrite chokes from radioshack(one on each end of the cord). put a little distance between the units and you will double your range. I bought the non-canon 10ft version on e-bay and so far so good. the brand was yongnuo. |

My point is, why is my flash firing when I hit the TEST button on the Mini TT1, but not always firing when I press my shutter on the 5DMKII? |

Sounds like the Mini TT1 has a connection problem with the camera. I have had problems like that with the Elinchrom Skyport system. |

I suggest you upgrade all your units to FW version 5.0 and put it on AUTO for the camera setting. That is how all FOUR of my TT5's are set up. C1 and C2 are set to different fequencies. I can send you screen shots of how I have it set up. Just send me your email. |

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I spent a good hour working with PW tech support, which was top notch, and they are replacing my mini TT1 and giving me a new Flex TT5(I pay the difference - $20), but either way, they admitted that whatever my mini TT1 was doing was horribly wrong. It was basically working only if I aimed the mini TT1 directly at the TT5 in a line of sight. |

Did you syne each speedlite and flex unit then sync them by taking shots with the camera it usually takes a couple of shots for everythign to sync up as described in the user manual and or videos. |
