...and if not, at least you clicked - band shots don't always get a lot of attention, and as someone who's shot 2-3 weddings every weekend almost straight, this was a welcome change.

First set are more professional in tone and execution for the drummer, specifically - he hired me for self-promotion/press/sponsor shots, ranging from a more professional approach to an edgier series later on in the set, with varied w/bs and colour cast variations. The additional band shots were with our extra time. The first 8 or so were shot in .jpg by mistake, the rest RAW, 1DsMkII, a bunch of various lights and modifiers, including the new gigantic PCB Parabolic (silveRr). Enjoy (or not!).

maybe not the coolest shots I've seen, but certainly the coolest drum kit I've seen in years.

Nice shots, a few (with lots of kit visible) are too busy with too many intersecting bright lines from reflections. But all are well lit and capture the intensity of the man and his kit.

Nice work, thanks for sharing

Now that I have a working one, yes. The others delivered, just with broken shutters.

Dude. Wow.

I'm a drummer. My set doesn't look like thatr though. Some of these were for Zildjian? Wow.

Really good light man. I expect no less from you at this point.

Jeremy, nicely done. That kit reminds me of Neil Perts from Rush.

I hate the first eight were jpgs. Number two is my favorite, love how the kit just surronds him and everything
draws you to the center. Number three would have been a killer Zildjian ad if the shirt was flat across and there
was a touch more light hitting the cymbals behind him so the name showed better.

7 looks like he has a cymbal growing out of his head.
last one has spots on people's faces.

1, 9, and 11 are my faves.
Good job w/ the PLM

Can you explain the lighting for shot #3? Looks like one softbox or umbrella for the left side and a snoot or bare flash for the right.

Very nice shots of the drummer, but whenever I see a drumset like this I have to feel a little sorry for Ringo...

Sure, frame left was a 6 ft umbrella about 12 feet in the air - a strip box frame right, two 580's at the kit for a bit more light on it.

Drumset reminded me of when Jerry Lewis battled Buddy Rich. Jerry had a similar drum set x2 and Buddy showed up with his usual minimalist set. Guess who sounded better? (Found the YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=141o_jwG7cA )

Nice dramatic lighting and photos.

you're missing one thing:

slow exposure drumming with 2nd curtain sync.

Every drummer would jizz in their pants for that shot.

I once shot a drummer who had an orange perspex kit- i put the flash in his bass drum and he loved it. Sorry for the trumpet blowing.

Also, on the band shot you have, i dont think the short guy should be in the middle. He's getting big shadows on one side of his face due to him being surrounded by bigger fellas. Still looks cool though, if a little basic.
