Very impressive John

Love the effect and the story you created with selective focus.

Dick...thank you very much. It's just so rare to see anyone looking at each other in the NY subway!

thats because if you look at someone who is very very tan, you are disrespecting them.

Greg, your rudeness has been tolerated here for a long time.

But not this.

Keep your racist remarks to yourself.

Love the work! I haven't used a 15mm at f/4 so didn't realize how much DOF it delivers. The way you connected the two individuals together using the sharp focus ceiling of the rail car really ties them together.

philber,

Thanks for your kind comments.

EXIF: NIKON D90, f/4 @ 15 mm, 1/100, ISO 1600, No Flash

The original shot was just of the people in the NY subway. The rest of the effect was PP using PS CS4 with layers. I used Topaz to enhance some of the detail in the photograph, a bit of curves and levels for lighting adjustments, and then the "motion" was created using onOne's Focalpoint filter. Took quite a bit of time to get it where I liked it.
