I didn't vote since we really don't know what the 1D4 will be or how much it will cost.

, how can you even answer this question without knowing what features the 1D4 will have? Given that there hasn't been anything close to a credible leak so far, any features would be pure speculation on one's part.

Stupid I didn't mention that one. In Holland the price drops and I can imagine the next 1d waits to come.

Perhaps the second option is the one to choose......

Haha... what if... it's going to be a 1d3N with a couple of added features and the same AF system...

My real answer is that I don't have a 1 series and I won't buy a giant brick, so forget it no matter what it does and if it is APS_H then it makes lens selection too awkward on the wide end anyway even if I did get over the brickiness of it. What to do then with the 24mm 1.4? etc.

With a less than a year old 5d2 it is a little soon to actually get a new cam (1d4 or 60D or 7D) unless it was some magical 6.3fps 21MP 3D with 1D4-like AF, but you can tell no way is that gonna happen yet.

but as a gadget liker i am curious in general and I also hope to see that they have boosted the specs so crazily high that it means the 5D3 can become a lot faster (rather than go from 21 to 30MP or something) or where the 70D may end up, where AF is going, etc. also if they have another disaster or it is a very minor update it might start to get a little more worrisome for canon and what sort of R&D budget they could maintain, although that is probably being a little too dramatic at this time

Have a brandy (or two), go to bed, and forget about this sort of $hit please.

This would actually be a good poll.

What do you want in an new 1d cam?

1) Lots of megapixel.
2) A few less and ....?

Nothing really.
I shall wait until Rob Galbraith and StanJ tell me the camera AF system is significantly better than 1DMkIIN's. And then I shall wait some more for additional feedback as well as the camera price dopping to about $3k......then and only then I might buy.

All in all, if the camera really excels, I shall probably buy it sometime in yr. 2012.

The funny thing is once you add a grip to a 5D or the xxD cameras, they end up feeling like big hollow bricks.

True, but still a very different feel to a 1Dx.

Just not good enough. I need PIF and perhaps DIF.
Well, unless Canon comes with their new camera pricing to our side, where we the Believers in Frugality (BIF) stand.

I think you would find yourself using DIF 95% of the time!

i dont like using a grip other than sometimes when shooting sports, so I mostly would leave the grip off

I'll probably rejoice and then buy a 1D Mark III

Second option, and when the 1D4 turns out great, the price on the 1D3 will fall like rocket powered, and IŽll grab one when the time feels right! Yeah!!
