Just got this email. Anyone else seen it yet? How do you think this one works?

I have a group of people coming to your town for a tour and i want you to cover this tour based on your expertise in the feild of photography.

They are 10 in number (5 RUSSIAN COUPLES) and the period of work is 3hrs every day on their outings, they will also take you in their vehicle so all i need is for you to confirm the availability of you to cover this event for 10days.

Date of tour :1st of November to the 10th of November, 2009
Number of Persons: 10

Kindly get back to me with the availability and i will send you my credit card for an upfront deposit.Note you will print all the photos, master CD of the video will be collected and your balance will be paid after checking at the end of the tour.

Haven't heard this one before. I like the fact that I need to provide a "master CD of the video", whatever that means.

It's probably one of those counterfeit money order scams where they come up with some story about having a money order for an amount that is too large, and "would you please cash it and send the rest on to our business associate to whom we owe money".

I shot this event two weeks ago.

why don't I ever get anything fun like this. I am so sad no one ever tries to scam me I am about to call someone in nigeria and try to scam them into scamming me....

Haha! I just got the same thing and thought it sounded so stupid and similar to things I've seen on Craigslist. I had to google it and there ya have it.

Hi to this scam I replied with a number of questions as follows:

Thank you for your e-mail.

I can confirm my availability for the 1st to the 10th of November. However I would need more information before agreeing to this project.

1. What town are they visiting?

2. What times and where are the outings to? Because three hours for a day trip is very short

3. Are you looking for photography, video or both?

4. What is the transport and does the insurance cover a person not part of your group?

5. You have made an offer of a deposit but have not agreed a fee, this would need to be done.

6. May I have a contact address and phone number?

7. Are you included in the 10 persons?

Thanks for your reply,. I am glad to tell you that of your offer are acceptable by My Friends and such, i am willing to make a deposit payment immediately. Due to there acceptance of your offer, I have concluded payment with them also.

I have been instructed to pay you for your services and provision of a language translator whom would be able to translate every word to them because they are Russians and do not speak your local language and also provide every transport logistics to include flight, hulage etc.I have arranged this with a linguist who is willing to undertake these responsibilities on their behalf. He would be with them throughout their stay in your country.I will send you my credit card details once I receive your confirmation email so that you would charge as agreed/authorized by my Friends.

However upon the receipt of my credit card, confirm you will charge a total of 7500pounds which is for your deposit of 1000pounds which will an advance payment and transfer the balance of 6500pounds to the Translator who will also take care of their travel logistics like insurance,ticketing etc. I really need you to make the charges for the Translator as she does not have a POS machines to process her charge and such all money for the tour has been credited to a credit card.So kindly Confirm this and provide me with the following Information:

Hi again,

I have sent a reply to their last e-mail. They must be having a great trip, USA, Canada and the UK.

The phone numbers given are UK Mobile (cell) numbers; I have resisted the urge to call. But I guess they are set up to transfer the call to an overseas number.

It will be interesting to see if Jimmy or Jimy (as on the e-mail address) would like to come and meet me. Unlike you guys sadly I am only part time as a photographer so he will have to come to my place of work. I will arrange a t is a nice little office, you can't miss it, it has a big blue sign outside that says police.....
