Awesome shot, Andy! Only you know what it took to capture this moment; I'd surmise it didn't all "come together" five minutes before you dropped the shutter on this one. Andy that is as good as it gets and like you after 58years taking wildlife photos I too was as you say trying to make a photo perfect in the camera as my dark room work was limited to after hours time. Yes many times, (as I bet you know) was spent into the wee hours of the morning in my dark room trying to get a color right after 4 or 5 printings I have found your work to be some of the best I have seen posted on FM and I certainly think you deserve this honor. Congratulations to you and wishing you more of the same for the future.
