Well deserved, your hard work is evident in that first bird shot, I have not seen anything better. Congratulations.

Congrats!!!!! That is an unbelieveable shot! I am learning the D300 & 300f/4 & sometimes tag a 1.7 on it. I need your help & you need to write a book. Keep up your dedication & great work!

I remember seeing photos in National Geographic when I was a kid and wanting to be a photographer because of them, and I suppose because of people like you, who actually take the photos that make the grade and inspire others to do so. Thank you.

Awesome shot, Andy! Only you know what it took to capture this moment; I'd surmise it didn't all "come together" five minutes before you dropped the shutter on this one. Capturing a moment like this is its own reward, but a little global recognition must be a nice kicker. Looking forward to seeing your next "killer" shot--I know it's coming, soon....Mitch

Andy - thanks for posting. My wife just showed me the photo in NG this morning and then I come to FM and there it is again, only with a picture of the guy who took it. Great job.

Andy that is as good as it gets and like you after 58years taking wildlife photos I too was as you say trying to make a photo perfect in the camera as my dark room work was limited to after hours time. Yes many times, (as I bet you know) was spent into the wee hours of the morning in my dark room trying to get a color right after 4 or 5 printings I have found your work to be some of the best I have seen posted on FM and I certainly think you deserve this honor. Congratulations to you and wishing you more of the same for the future.

Congratulations again Andy. I have said it before, and you prove my point. Great photographers aren't "lucky" - they make their own luck. Your hard work and dedication have won you a much deserved honor.
