Hi, i'm trying to track down a Studio Booster for a Broncolor Mobil (the original unit not the A2R) and I've hit a bit of a brick wall. Bron in Switzerland tell me they no longer make them, as neither they or sinarbron in the US have any left. I'm looking at Ebay daily, b&H, KEH etc.

If anyone had any idea where I might find one, I'd appreciate the help!

Thanks!

Paul,

They are pretty scarce.

They used to sell for about $1,100. For that price I just decided to use a true AC pack in the studio instead. You get a wider control range, true modelling lights instead of the limited 50 watt or 100 watt battery lights, etc.

I have only seen one on eBay in the last year.

You can buy a Pulso A4 (predecessor to the Grafit) for under $1,000. A Nano A4 with 2400 Ws for just over $1,000. If you are lucky in this market you can buy a Topas A2 for under $1,500.

The Topas is a great pack, 1600 Ws, way more control than the Mobil. Fully asymmetric on two channels, 6.7 stops, 2 LCD panels, dual voltage (650 watt modelling on 220), etc. About the same size and weight as the Mobil.

Post again if you are determined to look. I have a few suggestions, but no good leads.

Best,
Michael

Thanks for the great info Michael. maybe a few spare batteries is the way to go then!

If you have any suggestions I think I'll give it one last push though... I hate being beaten!

Cheers
