Well will ya? I don't need the 70-200VR right now, as I just got a D700, and have currently got my NAS in check, but I would like to get a 70-200 F2.8 VR at some point. I was just wondering if any of you guys are waiting for an update ( |

I'm happy with my 80-200 AF-S to not want to trade it for a lens that's not even announced. |

I guess I'm aiming the question primarily at those that feel the need to have the latest and greatest, whether or not it's been announced yet or not |

I'm happy with the 70-200 as is. Just like I still have the older 28-70/2.8 even though the newer 24-70 is available. I like to take pictures, not collect the newest and bestest gear. |

I love the current 70-200/2.8 VR on film and on DX digital. I haven't had the privilege of trying it on FX digital yet, but I'd imagine that it'd perform about the same as it does on film... |

NO! I'm a DX shooter and will be as long as Nikon maintains a pro-level DX body like the D300. |

Heck yeah! The D3x just kills the current lens in the corners. I've tried an 80-200, and for now, that's what I'm using. The current 70-200 is a touch better in the center areas though, so it's all a compromise. So, when the new lens comes out, yeah, I'll be first in line |

Nope, nothin' wrong with mine on the D3 for what pays the bills. YMMV, so happy waiting/shopping...if so inclined. |

I think I will not upgrade. I am happy with the current config I have. I won't upgrade the 50 1.4 AF-D for the AF-S either. |

Yes, I will. Why? Because I sold my 70-200 in Jan of this year thinking the new version was right around the corner. That and selling my minty D2xs were the two worst equipment decisions I've made. Right now I'm looking to add the 14-24 and in the future an upgrade of the 70-200 and that should hold me over for a while. |

For the amount of times I use my 80-200 two ring on my D3x, I will stick with it. It is pretty darn sharp edge to edge anyway |

I can't wait for the new one to come out. Then I can afford the old one! |

I doubt I'd get one. I replaced the current version with a 70-300vr and have been dare I say happier with that lens. The VR on the current version never really impressed me and I didn't enjoy carrying so much weight when I used it so little. I would like to suppliment the 70-300 with a 135 f/2 or something similar. |
