One of my favorites on the M8! Love the sharpness wide open and the bokeh. Lovely portrait lens.

The only lens I ever regretted selling -beautifuly smooth bokeh, but not considered as sharp as the serenar 1.4 and 1.8. Still, a superb signature!

would this lens need an adapter to mount on the current digital bodies.

LTM mount lenses will not work on DSLRs. I believe there are adapter solutions for the new micro 4/3 mounts (EP-1, G1, etc). I believe you would need to use multiple adapters: LTM-->M; M-->M43.
