Good lighting, good exposure, You didn't have enough patience for a good expression.

I'm seeing halo around the image (may not show up larger though) and a few things stick out to me as things that could be improved. As pilles mentioned, the expression could be better. I feel that the collar could have be fixed before the capture and that the light on her hair on our left is a bit much. I find the coloring of the background to be a bit odd and find myself wishing I was seeing her rich skin tone instead of having my attention called to the featureless background. Hope this helps.

J Bond great comments I agree the kicker in the back is strong on her left side.

I rather like the expression, and I don't mind the collar. I'm in my 50's and realize that my fashion sense may not be in sync with the younger, hipper kids of today.

My only nit is I would prefer to see the area around the eyes and forehead a bit lighter with the darker areas below. With the hat, I know I couldn't do it, but maybe someone with more skill could.

I like the portrait. I get the feeling that this little girl is much more aware of the world than we give her credit for.
