When shooting HSC with the D2x is one limited to JPEG or is RAW or RAW/JPEG an option? Thanks. Bob

+1 You'll be limited to 6.8mp files but the 8fps is a joy!

Thanks guys. I can do fine with a 6.8 RAW file. Have just purchased a 300mm F4 and looking to go birding with a yet to be purchased D2X. Most of what I have been doing is ending up in 5X7 & 8X10 coffeetable books so a bigger file is not needed if i can fill the frame ( not needing to crop ) with the subject.
These are a couple of examples coming from my present setu ( Fuji S-2/Tokina 100-300 F4/Kenko 1.4TC):

Shot on D2Xs, 300 f/4 with 1.7TC, and HSC. This is the crop as out of the camera.

Hi Avi. Nice shot! What brand of TC is used here? I have had good luck with my Kenko 1.4/Tokina combination
but dont know if a 1.7 Kenko would be compatable with the Nikkor 300 F4? Thanks again for the help. Take care. Bob

That's Robert.
That was the AFS 300 f/4 with the TC17IIE.
(I think that is the right combination of letters lol)

BTW I've since sold my AFS 300 f/4 to help fund a non-photography purchase

Naked 300 (eff. 600mm) handheld, focus on the head SOOC...HSC rocks!

The engagement ring I wanted to get for my now wife cost more than my initial budget. So the 300 f/4 was the sacrifice I made (and the 50 f/1.8 - but I have another one again lol).

BTW, if you were to look at the EXIF on that shot that I posted, it says 1000mm for 35mm FL equivalent (300 f/4 + 1.7 = 510; with HSC crop factor is *2, so 1000mm!)
