Mr. Petkal has a thread with people showing what a 100-400 can do with action shots. Now what I would like to see is some actions shots using the 400 5.6. I might add there are some very nice shots with the 100-400 on his post

Thank you
Mike

Mike, the seagull above was flying....just that it approached too close so it got clipped. I tried to zoom back but the 400 f/5.6 wouldn't budge

These all look great. Would anyone who has posted above be willing to share the camera used for the shot(s)? Thanks!

Tmr_wa......all of my shots are with 1DMkIIN except the seagull is 1DMkII.

Here is some unusual 400 f/5.6 application.......slow action, wedding photo action.

Thanks for the comments!

All of the soccer shots were with the 1D (4MP) and the Heron was with a MKIIn + 1.4x TC.

I have plenty of stationary shots with the 400 f/5.6 but most of my action shots are with the 300 f/2.8 IS, 500 f/4L IS, and 600 f/L IS.

Here is two with a MKIIn + 1.4x TC where the Redtail was trying to balance on a small limb and then flew off.

Jim

What a nice camera for only 4MP and I didn't think you had mud down your way

We get our share of rain but the shots were south of me in Houston.

I found two more. The first of the Female RWBB was with a 40D and the Pelican was with a MKIIn + 1.4x TC.

In the same vein, I would be interested in somebody comparing the bokeh of the 400L with the 100-400.
