Suddenly my 350D is not working in any of the Creative Zone modes! Will neither auto focus nor shutter release It works fine in all other modes. Anyone know what is happening?

Without a bit more info it will be hard to say but.
First maybe an obvious 1 but in the creative modes are you set for RAW but maybe theres not enough room on the card to shoot any more raw shots.
Other than than some settings may have got messed up so try to reset the camear by taking out both batteries (small button cell that hidden where the main battery is.) as this will reset the camera.

Oh I just had a thought. Have you set the camera to focus using the back button and not the shutter button (its one of the CF's)? I think that this will only work in the creative zone and not the program zones (Its been a while since I had a 350D). But if this is the case then your not getting the shutter to fire as the camear has not achieved focus. You could test this by setting the lens to MF and see if the shutter will fire

Thanks Ian for this. Seems that this is what is happening as it will fire fine if I manually focus. If I set it on ALServo it focuses but quickly jumps out of focus, something can’t be set right but I don’t know what. Got to go out for a couple of hours. Any ideas on how to set everything okay of do you think I should reset everything by taking out both batteries? How exactly to I get to the button cell as I can’t find it!!!

Many thanks,

What lens? got any other lenses to try?
Also set the AF point to 1 only (try middle first the cycle round the others)
Reseting the body cant be a bad thing. Just remember you will need to set the date/time and any other stuff you have setup.

As for the buuton cell. I dont have a 350D any more but as I remeber it is tucked in the battery compartment next to the main battery (under a small cap). If you still have manual its in there.

You'll get more help if you edit the thread title to something more intelligent, like "350D not working in Creative Zones". That way you can attract more people with specific knowledge.
