I have been shooting guns long before I started to shoot a camera. What better way than to shoot both on the same day.

The fine folks in Las Vegas host a annual machine gun shoot every 4th of July. It's the American thing to have the opportunity to shoot some suppressed, SBR's (short barreled rifle), full auto guns. Thankfully these are all allowed to be privately owned and possessed in Nevada as well as most other states. Those of you in the ban states... Sorry but it's time to move (I'm from Cali but stationed in Vegas) But I'm jealous that I can't afford one for myself, seeing as how a legal suppressed MP5 and M-16 cost upwards of $15k...

Enjoy

Wow...speechless.

The only thing a guy can do at a time like this is to quote from the book of Caddyshack...you know, to help put it all into perspective.

Carl Spackler: [preparing to dynamite the gopher tunnel] In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'.

Carl Spackler: License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.

Carl Spackler: I got to get into this dude's pelt and crawl around for a few days. Who's the gopher's ally. His friends. The harmless squirrel and the friendly rabbit.

Carl Spackler: I smell varmint poontang. And the only good varmint poontang is dead varmint poontang, I think.

Carl Spackler: This place got a pool?
Ty Webb: Pool and a pond... Pond be good for you.

Carl Spackler: I have to laugh, because I've outsmarted even myself. My enemy, my foe, is an animal. In order to conquer the animal, I have to learn to think like an animal. And, whenever possible, to look like one. I've gotta get inside this guy's pelt and crawl around for a few days.

Being a Christian and loving Americans, my heart bleeds every time those guns kill people. Oh, the bitterest people are sweeter than the sweetest of guns!
Sorry if this offends others, as this is not the intent.

These don't do anything for me, maybe if you would have gotten more faces or something a bit more interesting. Not sure if these belong in sports either, shooting trap would belong or a competition but these....not sure.

philber you don't understand Americans then Many of us love our guns but we are not the ones that go out and murder

Hey tt350z,

If you are stationed in Vegas I'm guessing you are in the Air Force. Thank you for your service to our country!

You did not ask for C&C but I would like to offer the following comments for you to consider for your future posts. First, these look like they are straight out of the camera. There's nothing wrong with that......if everything is as good as it gets in camera. These, like 99 percent of mine, are not. Mostly due to composition. They need to be tighter. If you don't have photoshop please stop everything, scrape up 80 bucks and go get the latest edition of elements, 7 I think.

That being said, let's move on to your post.

1. Photos #1-3..... are pretty much all the same. Pick one, cull the others.
2. Photos # 4-5.....You don't need both. #5 shows the shock wave from the shot so I'd keep it and toss #4
3. Your photo numbers are off between 4&5. Sounds nit picky but it complicates the C&C process.
4. Photos 6-8 (per photo count) need to be tighter but even then it just looks like someone holding a gun. Again pick one. No need for three.
5. Photos 9-12. The girl is out of focus in 9 and 10 and again, two sets of almost identical shots. Pick one from each set.
6. Photo 13. Decent but a shell casing suspended in the air or some indication of recoil would be nice.
7. Photos 14-18. Need to be tighter. Most shots that are left loose in order to include a ball or net or in this case shell casings don't really work. Five shots of this one.........do I really need to say it?
8. All of these can benefit from some simple levels and sharpening adjustments or even a black and white conversion.

Keep shooting and get some photoshop.

Marty

Critique photos not politics or religion or this topic like so many other gun photo posts from the past will be locked.
