I am very interested in setting up an online site to sell my pics. I am searching for a web page designer with ecommerce experience, who I can hire to design the site.

Can anybody help me with this endeavor?

If you're serious about needing to setup a custom web solution I'd be happy to talk to you about it.

But first why don't you try searching these forums, and the internet in general, to see if any of the current turn-key solutions out there could be adapted to fit your needs.

There are a lot of sites that will allow you to setup your own pages and sell your photos. I can't think of a lot off the top of my head (it's been a long day), but you might start with flickr, or smugmug.

Anyways, best of luck with your search. Feel free to PM me if you're honestly interested in hiring someone to do the job, but I really think it would only be worth the expense if you had some special needs that the basic services of the sites already out there can't provide.

Instead of making your own website, Doing your own printing, Posting off to your customers etc, You might want to conceder a site that that lets you sell your photos as kdowning suggested.

I sell my photos as prints though a site called redbubble which is a Australian based site that you can upload your photos and make them available as prints for sale (They do all the printing and post the prints off to the customer) So all you have to do is upload your work to the site, Choose what sizes you want to make your photos available, as well as a variety of prints such as postcards, Framed prints, Posters, Laminated prints, And even Canvas prints and T-Shirts.

Even though the site is based in Australia, They post anywhere in the world, And you can choose to have your prints/payments made in US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, And Euros. There are members from all around the world, Not just Australians.

It's free to join, There isn't a upload limit at the moment (That I'm aware of anyway) And there are also ways to promote your work though social networking sites, email etc.

You can take a look at my page to get a idea what the site has to offer:

You can also create A "Bubblesite" which gives you a nicer portfolio/website style way of displaying your work. Here's mine:
