Greetings! My name is Will and this is my first post since I've gotten back into photography after a long hiatus. For my recent 40th birthday, I bought myself a Canon T1i to replace the Pentax ME Super that I got for my 14th birthday!

Thanks to my long time friend Vipermike for bringing this site and these assignments to my attention and encouraging me to participate. I hope to take an active part in this community.

That said, here is my first submission here:

Hah that's wild! Two types of windows? Or did you desaturate some? Either way I like it!

Hi Will ~ VERY cool - I like the composition with the changing/alternating patterns ... some going diagonal and then what is reflected going diagonal in the other direction.

Welcome to the forum

John, the reflecting building is a hotel and it seems the beige windows are windows leading into rooms while the darker ones have solid walls behind them. Maybe what's behind them creates the effect, maybe it's a different type of glass/coating.

The true color of the reflected building is beige.

I like this one a lot. It seems to me a modern building dreaming of an Incan one.

very cool shot. Good eye on this one.

and, just for fun, the glass is called spandrel glass, it can be specified to have the same reflectance characteristics as the regular glazing, or, like this, a very different reflectance property.

Nice way to make an entry in the WA. I really like this shot, and it fits the "pattern" theme perfectly. Good luck!! can't wait to see more from you!
