This is a local nest with two juveniles that are about 2 months old and they are ready to fledge any day now. They have been stretching and flapping their wings as well as jumping from branch to branch around the nest. The siblings have been playing tug of war with branches from the nest too. The adults bring a fish every few hours. The angle available isn't great and the lighting was poor, but I managed a few shots with a blown out sky. The IQ is poor as they're saved at 3 quality in jpeg to keep under 175kb. I'm hoping for a July 4th fledge from the nest. 500/2x

Herb:

Thanks for sharing.

The pair that I was following lost their nest and fledgling in June.

Sure hope they build in the same area come this fall.

Herb,

difficult conditions to shoot under - - but these are still great.

Wonderful news & a great set.

Very nice Herb! somehow the chciks look more bad-a$$ than the parents
Too bad about the light! hey what's with the 175 kb limit? new rule or something?
That would suck 'cause I save my jpgs at full quality otherwise bgs get destroyed from the compression

No, I always kept my jpegs smaller than 175kb as that was the file size limit on uploading images. I may be wrong on that, cause i just uploaded a larger 200 kb file. Those darn pine needles require alot of info in a file I guess.
