Adorama has a Ex condition for 2399 IIRC? They are around in here and Ebay, but they are not high-volume items like 30Ds and 5Ds because of its high retail price. |

Be careful. Once you go full-frame, there's no going back. And once you go 1D, there's no going back. You see where this is going. |

The moment I saw the files mine was delivering (at the sellers house) I knew I wanted one, and it's still in my bag too. I bought a 5D2 in Feb but I really didn't find myself reaching for it over the older 1Ds2 so I sold it 2 weeks ago, and so far no regrets. |

To put it another way, the only reasons why I will _ever_ "upgrade" from the 1Ds2 are (1) if a client has resolution requirements that it can not meet (which is why I got it in the first place) or (2) high-ISO quality improves so much that I can shoot at 25,600 or whatever and have it look like ISO 100. And given that most of my recent stuff has been outdoors or with strobes, even #2 is not all that compelling. |

My thoughts are, if the job has not changed then I don't need to change the tool. |

I borrowed one last year and was very impressed. Then the guy said he was selling it & was I interested. After thinking about it for 1 second, I agreed. However, the next day I was offerred a 1DsMkIII for not a lot more money so I passed on the MkII. Still, using it really opened my eyes to the beauty of full frame. |

I don't use a bag, but mine's sitting next to me; being a test mule for the M42 lenses I have today. |

There were several on the B/S board a month ago, usually between 2200-2800, I have heard of them going right around $2k sometimes as well. Was really thinking about adding one rather then another 1d3, but might just get another 1d3 to keep batteries, controls, etc the same. Or, maybe wait til the ds3's drop into the mid $4k range... |
