The second best thing about photographing sunsets is the light is warm.
The best thing is you don't have to get up early.

Nice colors - both in the skies and the reflections. The combination of foreground and distant silhouettes works well in this comp.

Very nice color here. The dark silhouette really divides this image in two though. It's almost as though someone has cut out the middle of the shot.

I'm more of a sunrise person myself. If I'm out in the wilderness, I get up early anyway. Also, the hike back to camp is in daylight rather than the dark.

You got it- my tongue was in my cheek with that remark, although people who like to get up early don't really understand why everybody doesn't feel that way .
Of course, it's the same thing the other way 'round .
About the black divider- I agree. Something about black lava rock in shadows during low light situations- a fair amount of detail is lost.
And thanks all for the friendly comments.

hey charlie, it was a bit of a shock to see one of your shots in colur, i guess i should get out of the B&W forum more often!

I love the feeling the shot has but its just a bit too sharpened for my tastes

I was coping with your great environmental portraits but you just getting annoying shooting good landscapes too!

Cheers

I agree with you on not having to wake up early!! I was camping the other day and woke up for the most amazing sunrise I have seen and I was just still so tired I was like oh wow that's nice . Nice colors in this image.

only annoying thing is if you can't wake up early you are.... lazy

but if you suggest someone stay up late... it is an outrageous and unreasonable request to ask of such an earnest and hardworking soul

grrrrrrr.......

Super shot Charlie. Great crop with the alternating areas of light and dark.
