Very nice image Ben - this is the best of this series so far in my book. The combination of the rich color patterns and the rock lines are a very nice contrast here and combine to make a great composition.

I agree with Alan - this has more depth and variety, making it more appealing to me. Did you really not take any scenics? There's some beautiful views from there!

My goal for this trip was to create some texture-rich abstract shots. I'm thinking along the lines of images that would print very large for home interiors that could compliment the interior design, but not be so bold that they distract from anything else in the room. I did have a couple grand vista shots planned, but had to put those off until my next trip. CBS is a great sunset location (also good at sunrise, but mostly sunset), and while I was there, it was VERY windy around sunset. My 8x10 or 4x5 cameras are like sail boats, and would result in soft images. I love heading there to do some shooting, as well as scouting for my return trip. There were some great wildflowers there during my visit, but perhaps a bit past their prime. I think I'm going to try to make it there next year in May when I have more flowers to choose from.

Another behind the scenes shot for fun. This was taken when I went to retrieve my camera later in the day. I shot the actual image in the morning with reflected light from the butte on the other side of the ravine. I'm guessing that this mark was about 60 to 80 feet above the bottom of the ravine, and it was an interesting climb getting my gear up there. This is my homage to Gitzo.

Hey Ben,

Very cool shot. I was thinking that these would make excellant interior shots, and not just in homes, but in corporate offices, so that's cool that's what your intent was. It's great to see a bit of the behind the scenes shots too.
