Price has dropped a little - I think they were $114 previously (at B&H). |

They actually are in stock -- as I write this -- a lot of places on Amazon, including Amazon itself, and some of the other sellers on Amazon for the $88 range with free or limited shipping costs. It may be that the supply has opened up finally. Or it could just dry up again, I suppose. |

For those of you about to search the internet for the lowest price, I would recommend avoiding "accessorycircut.com". They list the LP-E6 as in stock at $74.99 (& have done for a while). I ordered from them about a month ago & my order was processed without a "backorder" flag of any kind. The next day I got an email requesting I call them. When I did a sales guy admitted they were on back-order (b/c of a leakage problem he claimed) & tried to sell me generic replacements which would not report usage info to the camera & needed a special charger. In other words, it was a bait & switch. |

In May I paid $75 from Canoga (a B&M store). |

I picked mine up months ago from Badger Graphics ... quick shipment from Wisconsin to California. They sell them for $70. |

The 3rd party batteries that work correctly have started to appear on eBay. I got one for $16 and so far it works just like my OEMs. |

There's a canon authorized dealer (Kenmore camera based out of Washington) selling these on ebay right now for $85.00 shipped. I bought one a couple days ago and just got it in the mail today...it's definitely canon OEM and it came in full retail packaging. Here's the link if anyone is interested |

Are they available online from non-ebay vendors? |

Are they still in short supply? I'm hoping Canon has sorted that out now, because if they can't keep up with demand for 2nd batteries when there's only one line using them, what's going to happen when the 7D arrives ?? |

All of this is very interesting. I purchased one from Amazon about two weeks ago for $66. It came from Amazon itself and not one of its associated marketers. |

I just received a pair off a company on ebay called "alpinetopline" they do not communicate with the 5D mark II body. If anyone has found an aftermarket battery that does communicate with the 5 D Mark II body please post their name so I can pick up a spare for mine. PS the Zeikos ze-cbg5dii multi battery pack works great and has perfect fit and finish |
