When I respond to a post, I click the e-mail notification check box at the upper right of the response box. But I never get any e-mails notices. Is there a switch somewhere that I'm missing? It used to work a couple months ago, but not lately. I did a "Search" for "e-mail notification" but nothing came back.

Is this a dumb question

Is your mail address (the one you used for the registration) still valid?
Check your mailer junk/spam box - just in case.

I do and since you get an email every time someone adds something it's a mixed blessing. A once-a-day option would be a blessing.

Ah, but Henry, you are subscribed to EVERY forum. I can feel your pain. Me, I only have a few and would like to keep up.

I will check the spam filter of my provider once again. Sometimes they change things without telling anybody.

I believe you receive only one notification (for a thread) until you read it...

The most likely culprit is the spam blocker. I had to adjust mine to accept FM email notifications too.

Well, I checked my providers spam filter and there were no emails from FM. And I checked my profile. Same email address that I signed up with long ago.

Just went to Profile, Edit Profile, and sent myself an email. Lets see what happens.

And I just sent another by clicking the email button at the bottom of the dialogue box. I'll let you know if either of them comes through.

Well, when I go to My Profile and send email from there, it comes through. When I click the email button at the bottom of the Thread dialogue, nothing comes through. Now what?

This is weird. Try to contact the mailer company (if it's your ISP, ie not gmail etc...) and ask them to check their log.

The sender is different for a message you send yourself and FM's notification that someone else has responded to a thread. I think the latter sounds more generalized, more spam-like.

Well, just checked all the filters again... nothing there. Would some brave soul be willing to click the email button at the bottom of this message and send me a "Testing 1 2 3" just to see if it's the system or just me?

I promise I won't sell your email address to more than a couple thousand of those little blue pill pushers.

Well here it is about 7:15 Eastern Time and nothing has come through. Thanks Soenda. At least you tried. There has to be something at FM that is not linked correctly. With the holiday weekend, guess it will wait 'till next week.

Thanks guys.

I just noticed something interesting. My email notification of a reply on a thread I started arrived today at 4:15 PM. However, the last message posted in the thread is marked 3:28 PM.

Larry, I wonder if timing has played a part in the email disconnect?

S.
