I am leaving for Italy in a few days and just remembered about the wattage difference in electricity here and abroad. Any know if the Canon battery charger CG 580 (standard charger) needs a wattage converter? Or just the different prongs? Many thanks! |

I just checked Canon site. It is dual voltage. |

Not really. Like most chargers today the CG 580 has a switching supply and operates over a range of voltages. 100-240V covers the standard 1-phase power grids all over the world. |

It's fine -just get a cheap two prong attachment that will allow your charger to plug into their outlet standard. |
