This was a picture I took last week during one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I was out of position and had absolutely nothing for a foreground so had to make due with composing with just the hills and sky. I think there's a good image in here, but I'm having trouble deciding on the PP.

My questions are as follows:

1) I really like the color version, I think it showcases the grandeur of the sunset best. Maybe I'm being too picky, but I just can't seem to get the colors right.

2) Since I couldn't get the colors I tried the B&W version, do you like it better?

Thanks for looking; any and all C&C welcome. Once I decide on a final version, I'll post it in the Landscape forum and link it here.

Beautiful scenem Ryan. Plenty of interest. I dont think the hills are a problem

I agree that the colors dont look right. Too saturated, for one. I'll leave the color re-working and advice to others.Rather than tackle the color without the original image (RAW?), I played with the BW.

In both the BW and color images I think you need more work to heighten contrast between the different darker tones in the hills. A bit of curves, dodge and burn, and for the BW, a red filter. Highlight recovery to protect the whites in the clouds.

Maybe too dramatic in the sky, but I think the hills are improved.

I'm going to work on the B&W later, but here's a quick color adjustment... what do you think? Better? Worse? Still not quite there?

Definitely better. Blues are much more realistic and still quite beautiful. Clouds look a bit too pink, but you were there. Hills look a bit too pink as well.
