I photographed the tree swallows and the gnat at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge about a month ago. We have not had a beautiful day like this was since.

Comments and suggestions welcome,

Morris,
I see you aren't the only one that spotted the gnat.

love the gnat Morris
#1 shadows are quite dark and should show a bit more detail.
Beautiful blue sky

#2 bird is very nice alert pose, again some dark shadows and
not a pleasing blue sky....but green?
A quick "slight" enhancement", mostly for sky and some
lower midtones on bird

And it does appear he has his eye on that gnat too Having shot these guys often and often with less of result I had hoped for I think your Beamer may be causing a bit of the contrast problem. Probably reading alot of reflected light off the white breast and cutting the exposure short. I do like the enhancements Dave brought out so I guess just a bit more pulled from PP work loosens them up. They are hard to resist that is for sure!

Hi Morris,
I was expecting to see a pic of just a gnat in flight and I was wondering what they looked like close up.
Very nice swallows you got here and I love the look in the eye of the swallow as it homes in on the gnat.

Thank you Dave,

It's funny as I added contrast and you’re subtracting it. Different taste. I agree about the sky color.
