First post within this forum. Every once in a while I like to 'experiment' in PhotoShop with CALCULATIONS. Most of the time I end up with junk, but it is still fun playing around. Here is one I did of a shot I took in a small fishing village in Scotland - Oban. Used photoshop Calculations

wow. now that is different. a good shot, but hard on the eyes, like a 200% HDR. a neat shot; keep working on it.

Tom - thanks for commenting. As I said, most of the time I end up with junk - my bit bucket is full. Now that I've 'broken the ice' in this forum, I'll work at posting some 'eye pleasing' shots.
Regards,
Bill

Wow! This is really cool! I don't know anything about Photoshop calculations. Does it account for the tone here? Sorry if that's a dumb question.
I really like the look of this.
Only nit would be the light frame. For me, it detracts from this great shot and work rather than enhance.

I really like this - it's like a combination line drawing and photograph. Terrific.

Tim - thanks for the feedback. I agree on the 'frame' - at last minute I added an inside shadow, as I was probably too lazy to finish it off properly. As far as Photoshop calculations - it is a seldom used/little known feature, which is based orginially on some complex math (hence, 'calculations' You can combine different channels from the same image, or even different images different blend modes, etc. I certainly am not an expert on it, but like to play with it.

I really like this yea maybe to some it is in your face not easy on the eyes but for me it offers almost a 3D perspective great conversion here.

Very interesting if a bit overwhelming. Agree with your own assessment and others about the border.
Neat graphic look worth refining a tad, IMHO, reducing the effect slightly.
Excellent composition that seems very well suited for this kind of processing.

Bill,
I really like this. It doesn't look like a picture to me. It is bold and sorta reminds me of a dreamlike image. I would like to see what other wonders you can do with this same picture.

Different, and very nice. Wasn’t sure about the color tone, but it seems to grow on me. Never heard of Photoshop calculations. To late to Open PS, and I’m outa here in the morning for a few days, so maybe this thread will get me to go investigate calculations when I return.
