Recently, I got a good deal on SIGMA APO 1:5.6 400mm, but not sure that would AF on Nikon D700, anyone knows how to check that? I tried the web site, but this lens had discontinued for long time. |

Well I have got an old Sigma 400mm f5.6 APO lens in the storage room that works on my D700 and D3 but it sure isn't white in color. It is black with white printing on it and a large gold type "APO" on the barrel near the mount, about 7 1/2 inches long. |

You might need to send it in to sigma to get it chipped properly so that it will AF properly.. |

No, I'm assuming that it won't. I don't know honestly. Just that older Siggy lenses wouldn't AF properly all the time with newer bodies... So that's why I suggested to send it in and tell them that you want it working with your D700 |
