Islamorada used to be "the fishing capital of the world" and although it is not now like it used to be, it still holds good fishing, backcountry and on the ocean.
I fish regularly in the area for snappers on the ocean side but during the hot and humid days of summer I usually do my fishing at night. In winter things change, temperatures are cool and trolling is excellent for blackfin tuna, wahoo, dolphin and kingfish.
These pictures are excellent. They show the action and the emotion of fishermen with the giants tarpons. The old man is holding a bonefish in his hand.
I could not recognize the side of Islamorada you were in.
Great shots and I am sure a good day full of fun.
Congratulations!

Love these--especially #6 and #8, with the size of the fish (and its scales) so clear. Brings back memories of diving in a school of tarpon just off Playa del Carmen. The animals are so regal--and I'm glad that you used barbless hooks and let that monster go to swim another day.

That's a wonderful series. Even without the words it would tell the story very well.
