Our buddy Jim Cowsert won the monthly 'Clip Contest' on Sports Shooter in the Sports Action category with his great Texas Rangers Front Row Dive shot.

What a great honor Jim. Congrats Buddy, that shot is awesome! Hopefully you'll win that 1D Mark III

The "Oh sh*t" Camera came in handy on this day! Great image! (just about ruined by the guy's head in the bottom right, too. (Black smudge creeping in on the bottom right))

Hey Albert...I had no idea until you sent me an email that my entry got first place.
Everybody else...Thanks so much for the congrats...a little story how I got this shot.
The night I was shooting this game the photo wells were packed. ESPN was live, Sports Illustrated had their shooters there, and the usual gang including AP and the local newspapers. After two innings I had enough of the ESPN cameras running up and down the baseline, so I went upstairs to the "crows nest" next to the pressbox. As the play was unfolding I was just in the right place at the right time. I was lucky to get the entire sequence to where Davis fell all the way in to the front row.
After that inning was over I went back to the media room and transmitted the shots. I shot a quick email to Brad the Rangers team photographer with the photo attached. He was still in the photo well next to the Rangers dugout and called Davis over to check out the shot. Davis loved the shot and had to have an 8x10.
I keep reminding myself to print a few more since he owes me a few signed copies.

Jim,

Excellent shot and interesting story. You never know when bad luck (ESPN, SI, et al filling up the photo wells) will turn into good luck (being in the right place with the right equipment and skills for this shot).

Congratulations!
