i want to start this post off by thanking a few people from this forum. thanks to spencer boreup for having me out to tuscon and showing me a few tricks, i had a blast and your photos killed mine. bastard.... thanks to sam hassas (and quan) for showing me an awesome time in san jose, and letting me tag along on a really fun wedding. the BBQ was great. thanks to tony hoffer and his wife amy for letting me bum around their house and eat their food. also a big up to alan and pat for coming to NYC with us, and the 7-8 people who showed up at the meet up and didnt say anything about me being underage in the bar.

i learned a lot from you folks, and i am proud to say i just finished my first two weddings in my first weekend as a real wedding photographer. couldn't have done it without you. big ups to ksmahgrts, ryanflynn, maurice ramirez, ed pingol, jason tran, and numerous others for the constant inspiration, support, and belief in my ability as a photographer. i owe you one.



sandy + josh got married at the salish lodge. they live in san francisco, but with roots in the northwest, they decided to tie the knot right by the snoqualmie falls. the photobooth was off the hook, and i will be doing a separate post of that sometime soon. thanks to michael rowley again for coming along and helping out. also, kudos to jesse and travis from true colors events for making the wedding day happen flawlessly.

Hey man,
I dig this wedding more than your first. You've got some really great images here! Not to be the number police (weeeeoooo weeeeooo) but if you could put some numbers by your images I think it would be a little easier for us/me to say which ones are standouts and what you can work on in a certain image!

One of my personal faves for you is your T/S image of the old gentleman in B/W. Pretty sick nasty imho!

Some of your later images, on my monitor, seem to be a bit red but I'm on an uncalibrated laptop at the moment!

Anyhoo, hope to get to shoot with ya someday man! Looking forward to the booth images!

These all suck because they were shot in JPG. I won't even comment on how the light just looks amazing, or how your processing is SICK and unique, and how you have the cajones to be who you are. Also, because the 45 isn't an L lens you must not be a serious shooter.

Much better than the first wedding. The bride prep stuff is well done. Great comps, great PJ moments. The post processing is the bees knees right now, but might look dated in 10 years like white vignettes and selective coloring... but the photos behind them are timeless. I'm oddly compelled by the bride holding the dress shot. The detail shots are album-perfect. You have that stay-out-of-the-way look yet still claiming your artistic vision, unlike some togs who are all about posing brides/grooms to emulate fashion models or something.

And dood, number your photos!!

Sergio, kudos on a wonderful job!

All neat captures though I love #4 especially and the B&W of the older gentleman.

Maybe I was being a douche when I commented on your first wedding. Both of these are leaving an impression on me that more standard photographs wouldn't. These are truly stunning.

I stand by my thought that the grain is a bit much, but you clearly love it, so who am I to argue?
