Not really an SLR topic -- but I see Nukon has been doing a great marketing job in the UK for the best quality light spectacle Lenses -- almost any optician you visit now is offering mega high quality Nikon low weight / dispersion, etc. lenses for people who wear glasses.

I must admit I never knew Nikon was in this market -- perhaps that explains why the quality of Nikon glass at the Wide end has always been first class -- Even as a Canon Shooter I've always bemoaned the lack of Canon high quality wide angle primes.

Nikon was in the optics business long before they were in the Camera business. Even the first Canon cameras had Nikon lenses on them.

Go to just about any Opthamoligist or eye testing centre and pounds to peanuts you'll see Nikon Machinery . Colour pass spectrometer and the like, it is here in Oz anyway.
