Taking my dad to Citi Field in July and was wondering what combo I can get away with? Would they allow canon 1d MK2N and 135 with 1.4x. Possibly 300L F4? Thanks in advance. |

Thank you for the quote, but Fenway lists similar restrictions and allow larger cameras inside. Looking for anyone who has been to a game at Citi Field and what they were able to get in with (not being paid to shoot). |

I've gotten in Citifield with a canon 40D and a 200m F2.8 with the extender on. No issues what so ever. I've even seen fans with 70-200m. |

Though it was not Citi, I took my D300 with a 70-300VR into the new Yankees Stadium without problem. If you are worried, just put a small lens on the camera, and bring a larger one in a separate bag. |

I tried to get my 300 2.8 and 1d2n in to citi but was turned away. They told me to put it in my car, to which I laughed at the guy. Thanks to a friend on the inside I was finally able to get it in. ![]() |

Please check with the teams website, stadium website, or call the team/stadium and find out the rules. Please do not try to slip past the rules. If there is a restriction on cameras, or limits to lens size, follow them. The more rules broken, the harsher they will be the next season. Take a point and shoot, enjoy the game with your dad. |

Thanks for all of the responses. I will try to enjoy the game, as long as the Mets improve! |

if one ticket-taker turns you away with the lens, simply get on another line. these folks are clueless to their own rules for the most part, some don't care, some are on power trips -- i think the rules on the websites are somewhat irrelevant to that degree, honestly. or just go and enjoy the game as others have said. |

You can plan out your camera equipment, but not the weather. Game was rained out. Brought my 35L, 300 F4 IS, 5d without any issues. Here is a pano I managed despite the weather. |

It's been my experience that it's hit or miss. The park I shoot at has a "6 inch rule" w/r/t length of lenses, but it's never measured and I've seen people bring in 70-200's and I'll get harassed with a prime lens (bigger bodies look more professional, I guess, so therefore "No.") On days I'm not shooting a game and am relegated to drinking beer, the G10 comes with since I know I won't get harassed and have to leave my gear in the car (not a great idea.) |
