Thought I'd go for a little drama here and also tried to violate a number of hard and fast composition rules. At least everyone will know what I do. Anyway, I'll be curious to see what happens.

Cool! You have the best shot until Flibble shows up. Where is he anyway?? Self-portraits seem to be his unbeatable forté! ;-)

Thanks! So glad you like it! Fibbs is always a tough competitor. He only seems to do self-portraits of one kind or another. He and I are locked in mortal combat for last week's top slot. I don't know, though, Bev's shot is pretty amazing.

All the best,

Endre

And when you view this you'll know why: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/384754

Plenty of competition from you too Endre.

Thanks for the comment, Bill. Glad you like my entry. That's the first shot Fibbs ever posted. It remains one of the most brilliantly executed special effects photos i've ever seen. I'm sure Matron is spurring him on to create something amazing. i just hope his little green pills don't run out before it's too late.

All the best,

Endre

Thanks so much, Julien, my old friend! I'm happy you like it. I was trying, in addition to getting a nice shot of myself, to take a photo that represents the two major things I do - play the violin and shoot photos. Half and half.

Anyway, I'm glad al is well at your end of the world.

Warm regards,

Endre

A fine self portrait with beautiful light.... nice curves indeed (I'm referring to the violin...)

Thanks, Jouko! I'm so glad you like it. I knew what you were talking about with the curves. I certainly don't have many of my own.

All best wishes,

Endre

Endre, the color really pops in this one, and I like the lighting. Seems you are on a roll with the WA's. I like it!

Oh, the rumor is that Flibble took too many laughter pills, and has been hugging the porcelain throne for a couple days. If matron can find the rubbish pills - I'm sure we all will be in for a treat.

Thanks, Jim, my friend! I'm always delighted when you like something of mine. You are the master with lighting equipment so it's especially nice to get a compliment on my lighting.

I think the Lllamas may have made off with the Rubbish Pills. They may have made of with Matron, as well. Yikes! Fibbs is running out of time.I was afraid those Laughter Pills would have had a long-term adverse effect on him.

Fond regards,

Endre

Could be three in a row! Love the distinguished greyness of your hair and the curvature of the violin around your lips and nose, makes the instrument truly an extension of your body. Hope all is well.

Thank you so much, Andrew-Bede, my dear friend! i don't think three in a row is in the cards but it was good to get a new and more dramatic self-portrait for my future exhibits.

You point out that my nose is curved just like the c bout of the violin. I was hoping no one would notice.

L & P back,

Endre

Composition is simply breathtaking and light (natural? window?) is as good as ever.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Thank you, Yakim, my friend. As always, I am delighted when you like something of mine. This was done with the light from my large open doorway to our back yard. As to the composition I was very careful to put my eye in the dead center of the photo (using the little crosshiair of the PS crop tool) just to see if i could get away with grossly violating the "Rule of Thirds".

Warmest regards,

Endre
