So i have a couple PW that i use to trigger various lights. I was having an issue triggering one light and checked the regular stuff like making sure they are on the same channel and plugged into the right mono and both are on. Nothing worked so i changed them around and it worked. Anyone ever run into this issue any solutions any help would go a long way

cheers

Are you sure you don't have a transmitter and receiver only. For both to receive and transmit you need to have a transciever unit. You can check the units just by holding them apart a couple of feet and hit one button on the unit and it will light the other unit as indicated by the red light. Additionally, the transceivers will be printed on the unit whereas the transmitter/receiver units aren't indicated so.

If this is your problem, you'll just have to mark them accordingly so you are sending a signal when you should.

did a lot of digging and it turns out it is a defect with 2.0 firmware with the pocket wizards. i have a serial number 60xxxxx which is the 2.0 firmware, apperantly PW will upgrade free to 2.1 because of the defect. I will give PW a call and see what they say

Thanks Euro....I have been experiencing something similar! I assume they have to go to PW for work to upgrade the firmware?

I was playing with mine tonight. I have a pair, one with serial numer 601xxxx and one with 600xxxx. Seems like the 600xxxx will receive and transmit, but the 601xxxx will only receive. Tried all the channels, tried the Tx only mode. I'll be following up with PW soon too. Please keep me posted on what you learn too! Thanks!

UPDATE: PW wrote me back. They just said to send them in, should be covered under warranty.
