Congratz and like many others here i've also taken a look at your gallery and am quite impressed. You have a great eye for both colour and b&w which is always a mark of a good photographer.

Just got my biggest order yet, 40 framed fine art prints!!! Either a lot of debt is getting paid off or a D2h is heading my way :0)

Apologies for the blatant self congratulations but I had to tell someone. Am at work, so can't tell them, family's on holiday and girlfried is on a business trip abroad. I've been bouncing round the office, beaming inanely but can't tell anyone why!!!! (photography is my own business and would not go down well if i told work ie my dull day job about it...)

Anyway, I'm going to sneak out in a mo and go for a cheeky celebratory pint :0)

Had a play with a D2h last night and am looking through the shots at the mo. As i've said before the main reasons i would move from my D1x are the battery (a hands down win for the D2h), flash exposure (haven't tried it but it's GOT to be an improvement over the D1x and Sb-80) and last but by no means least noise at high ISOs as I do a lot of available light work in dark bars/clubs etc

In comparing shots at 1600 and 3200 with the D1x i'm a little suprised with the results. In my opinion the D1x's noise, whilst not quantifiably less, is of a nicer overall look than that of the D2h. To my eye the D2h's noise is more obtrusive and it also has a nasty habit of smearing red ie patches of noise will be red/magenta. I couldn't get rid of this using my usual PS technique for removing noise......

I'll try and post some shots but i've never posted images so bear with me.....i think it's made my mind up for me though. I'm getting the D70 when it comes out (when Nikon WHEN!!!?) to use as my backup camera and keeping my D1x for the time being.

One major factor to bear in mind is that i've come to this conclusion from a less than perfect test, and my results may be off the mark. But it's made me take the sensible decision so i'm not going to argue. I can still get great results with my D1x and can't really justify selling it just to get the latest and greatest. Only a clear improvement would make me cough the dosh. Instead i'm going to be scarily sensible and mature and pay off some debt......i can't believe i said that!!!

still no definite decision on the print sale yet.......tick-tock-tick-tock.......

Cheers all

Dan
