That wet ball shot was originally a full body shot. It's funny because I don't always try to get the throw after the catch unless there is a clean background...I was going through the images afterwards looking for deleters and standouts and this one caught my eye.

The one where the catcher is getting hit with the ball is a "once in a lifetime" shot though. When covering an event I always try to get a real super close shot of the catcher during warm-ups. I got caught up talking to a parent near the fence and found that play had started and I was in a bad spot. I went ahead and took the shot and the ball got fouled into the catchers mask. That shot is uncropped

Joe I "resemble" Paul's comment. Water and moving water has a way of making a good capture great. My only complaint and it is a minor one is too many images.

Seriously a great set. 13....the moment before pain. 19 is a prime capture as well.
The only problem is there are no eyes seen in the hitter shots. Hard to get the angle on those unless you have actually dug into the ground dug outs. In HS ball, a rarity.

A question....how much post did you have to do to take all shadows off of their faces because of the bright sun/cap combination, or did you do something else in camera such as overexpose body/scene to capture face?

Again, a really really nice set of moments in history.

Usually I shoot +1/3 or 2/3 but even then I sometimes have to use the fill light tool in LR.

14 and 19 for me. Nice timing on your shots.
