Hello:

I have the 1Ds... I recently switched to full frame...

I have come to find out, there are copies of the Canon EOS-1Ds owner's manual available in PDF form online.. FREE - to download..

That is not the issue... -

I wanted to print the downloaded manual.... It has the word: COPY - watermarked across every page...!

This may not be that 'big of a deal' to other owner's / users, BUT for me, it is..

I prefer to have the factory ' (original) hard copy bound so I can read it easily, and have to refer to in the field...

Anyone that happens to have one, found in a drawer for example, after getting rid of their 1Ds, PLEASE consider letting me buy it...?

If you have one that's been (coffee stained, dog eared corners, etc..) make me an offer for it, I might buy it...

Hoping someone will come through with one manual...

Thanks everyone.... !

God Bless,
Ed

I've seen a few on craigslist where the persons camera gets stolen, then they sell all the accesories....good luck.

this particular online manual does not have that watermark you are referring to:

Yes it does have the watermark. Its not visible when reading on screen but if you click on Print then Preview you will see a heay "COPY" watermark.

The only way I know to get rid of it is to use software to hack open the file and then change the file properties to remove the watermark. There are a number of software packages that can remove PDF security features but this isn't the appropriate forum for such discussions.

Yep. They used to have a special shipping rate for small stuff that cost less than $50 but you have to ask for it -- not offered through the website.

Also, Bert Sirkin published a laminated 'CheatSheet' for it. So if your goal is to have something to use in the field, that's an alternative.

You're exactly right about the security stuff. I'll send a PM to the OP.
